Survival BasKITS

The response has been wonderful and not limited to members:
It couldn’t have happened at a better time;
The TLC made a difference;
It was so unexpected; and,
What group? What is Delta Kappa Gamma?
The following “ditty” was printed on a card decorated with a rosebud and attached to each kit…
2010 Survival Kit
A tiskit, a taskit, so what’s in the little basket? It has some goodies and treats to get your attention and water and juice to wet your whistle when you need it.
Your Gamma Chi sisters have included some of those little things that mean a lot! Those things you have already learned to do without. But, not this year! Remember those little comforts that you use to take for granted before you devoted your life to teaching the youth of America. Remember those 15 minute breaks which other public employees by law still enjoy? Remember those frequent trips to the office water cooler or coffee machine? Remember that much needed trip to the restroom to get relieved? Not any more. Those memories are now dim memories for the classroom teachers on the front line. The little comforts you enjoyed are no longer possible.
A survival mode is now necessary! Your Gamma Chi sisters have put together this Survival Kit to let you know we are thinking of you as you march thru the 180 days on your calendar. For those moments when you might wish you were somewhere else you will find special treats (like a chocolate little thing) to pick up your spirits on those Mondays; get you thru the Wednesday hump days; and help you ride the waves to the TGIF’s.
